The idea is that much the same way Copper Jeans' seams and pockets are held inplace with metal rivets, broken bones can be reconstructed with metalpins and plates. Agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty Asia-Pacific thought the vintage x-ray treatment was cool, since it lets them show the jeans in a interesting way, without showingthe talent.

The advert was filmed on location in Hungary within a working industrial chimney, with all shots taken in the absence of any form of natural light. A bank of lasers capture the action of gladiators battling futuristic robo-cops and suped-up motor cars being dropped from a sheer height (hence the industrial chimney).

The winner has been announced for the Young Creatives Competition: Film sponsored by Nokia Nseries that was part of the recent International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France. Italy ran away with this year’s medal and you can view what made their video special enough to win.

Now that the contest has concluded, there is some great footage both at the competition’s site as well as the reality-TV style footage on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/localtheory). The YouTube videos include John Jackson from MTV explaining to the 20 teams their 48-hour mission, all 20 team submissions and some very interesting interviews with marketing icons, like Bob Scarpelli, who talks about the state of mobile advertising. In true documentary style, there is some hilarious behind-the-scenes footage at the YouTube page also, that you won’t find anywhere else.

Campaign: Drambuie's Return of the Prince

Just for the scale of it. Just for the bravery to go for it. I like it.

"Our brief was to get young affluent males and to try Drambuie in a new serving suggestion - Drambuie & Soda.

"The problem was, even though everyone has heard of Drambuie, they don’t know what it is or how you drink it. Bar staff included. Also, the bars we wanted to get people to drink it in don’t really allow promotions.

"And now for some history. The recipe for Drambuie was handed down by Scottish Prince, Charles Stuart, to a loyal subject after his defeat on the battlefield by the British in 1745 (if he’d won, he’d have been King of Great Britain!). True story.

"Our idea was to bring Charles Stuart back - a direct descendant of the original Scottish prince, surrounded with the trappings of a very wealthy playboy. His own blog established a globetrotting history.

Charles visited bars as a Scottish bloke on holiday. He’d get chatting with barmen, ordering a Drambuie & Soda and showing them how to mix one.

"A few days later Charles would turn up with his entourage - including a chauffered $300K Audi and security. This time he’d get chatting with the locals and maybe shout them a drink - a Drambui & Soda. Why Drambuie? He might make a reference to some family history.
Before leaving, Charles would give his new-found friends his calling card, and invite them to a party he was throwing whilst in town.

"Charles toured bars in Sydney and Melbourne and hosted parties in both cities for over 500 people. The parties made the social pages and Charles popped up on various blogs etc. Charles also introduced his new found friends to the “Drambuie Clan”. And then he disappeared.

"Charles hasn’t been seen for months, but still the Drambuie is flowing - through invitations to pop-up parties and events - most with a Scottish theme."

Challenge
Optimus is a mobile phone company based in Portugal. Our task was to create a brand experience targeted to young people within a big music festival context.

Solution
A service called “Broad Shoulders” was created. Ten big men offered their Broad Shoulders for people to climb in order to see better the concerts or just to find a lost friend amongst the crowd.

Results
This service was greatly accepted by young people, creating word of mouth in the three days of the music festival as more people were asking for the Broad Shoulders service.

The new thing to watch closely is called Photosynth and it's a Seadragon based application (both currently developed by Microsoft). What it does is simply link images together making it possible to move between different shots of a single place made by milions of people.

Campaign for Vancouver's Sculpture Biennale where three-dimensional posters for the festival, were spread throughout the city. With a tagline like "Art that you can feel,"
The 3D posters also featured empty pedestals - the kind you use to display sculptures -- so that passersby could leave something of their own (personal or found) on them. This, in essence, made people the artists, and what they left on top of the pedestals became their art. The wall becomes an interactive public gallery.
