Ambient: Broad Shoulders

Challenge
Optimus is a mobile phone company based in Portugal. Our task was to create a brand experience targeted to young people within a big music festival context.

Solution
A service called “Broad Shoulders” was created. Ten big men offered their Broad Shoulders for people to climb in order to see better the concerts or just to find a lost friend amongst the crowd.

Results
This service was greatly accepted by young people, creating word of mouth in the three days of the music festival as more people were asking for the Broad Shoulders service.

Scamp not only made this campaign at BBH, he also posted it on his blog for all of us outside of UK to see.
The TVC is beautiful piece of film in itself, but what we enjoyed probably even more was the poster work. Lovely design, lovely writing. Lovely ideas.

Gadgets: MS Photosynth

If you've ever wondered (like we did) whether anything good could possibly come out from Microsoft, be assured it can. No, we don't speak about Vista here.

The new thing to watch closely is called Photosynth and it's a Seadragon based application (both currently developed by Microsoft). What it does is simply link images together making it possible to move between different shots of a single place made by milions of people.

If you want to play around with Photosynth a bit, you can.

Dig that advertising implementation seen in the video!

The new Diesel campaign Human after all isn't definitely the best in the denim brand's history even if it comes from the current european hot-shop Marcel. Nice to see for us, creatives from normal-to-boring agencies, that not all they do is totally awesome.

Ambient: Sculpture Biennale

Campaign for Vancouver's Sculpture Biennale where three-dimensional posters for the festival, were spread throughout the city. With a tagline like "Art that you can feel,"
The 3D posters also featured empty pedestals - the kind you use to display sculptures -- so that passersby could leave something of their own (personal or found) on them. This, in essence, made people the artists, and what they left on top of the pedestals became their art. The wall becomes an interactive public gallery.

Nokia steps forward in its search of new ways geared to reach young target.“Look at me” is a new live advertising action created by Marketingvivo, using shop windows, in the areas frequented by the young target at night, with excellent visibility, to promote the Nokia 5300.
Shop windows were rented after the shop hours and converted it into dancing scenes were an actor is dancing, at the music of his Nokia.
The core of the communication was: the personal relationship that each individual establishes with his music, thanks to Nokia.

Even though the big/heavy head isn't truly new (just see the National Geographic TVC in this year's Cannes competition), but it's a nice, clean and beautyfully art directed idea, anyway
The only thing I can't put my head around is why do they need to bragg about the london office's success. Do the parisien clients care?
